Hello my name is Debbie Tai and I would like to tell you my back story. Five years ago I had an MRI and was diagnosed with a disc herniation in my lower back. As a result, I had horrible back pain that radiated from my lower back down to my legs. Sometimes, the pain intensity was so high I could not walk or perform my normal activities of daily living (i.e. driving). Consequently, my work performance suffered because of my inability to perform my regular duties. Out of desperation, I tried several treatment options that doctors recommended, but to no avail. My pain was a part of me and I wondered if it would ever go away. Several years passed and I continued to suffer frequent flare ups. Time progressed and I realized that my pain caused me to be more frustrated and sometimes angry. I felt like I was in an 80 year old body. When I had a severe flare up I would be bed-ridden from 4-5 days completely unable to perform my family responsibilities. Instead, my husband and children attended to my needs (This was very hard because I am an independent person).

My situation changed for me when I started seeing Dr. Harris 3-4 months ago. He introduced a totally different approach than what I had previously tried. He designed a customized core training program for me and gave me one-on-one training.

Since completing several weeks of this training I feel like I have my body back and a new attitude. I am not as grumpy, I am happier, and my new ability to be active has helped me lose weight. I feel stronger and thankfully my lower back doesn’t hurt me as much as it used to. Dr. Harris also took the time to educate me about lifestyle choices pertinent for my continued success. As a result, I have become much more conscious about how I take care of myself and the postures that I take on throughout a day.
